Love of Family & Heritage Led Us to Build a Wedding Venue

Meet Your Trusted Venue Team

Bringing over 10 years of experience helping couples create their dream Hill Country wedding

MICHELLE

Before she and her husband started their family, she worked in a management role for eight years for a major airline with a focus on sales and customer service. Currently, she enjoys balancing her roles of homeschool mom and managing the venue. She has a zest for learning and she loves sharing tips and resources with our couples to help them navigate the wedding planning process. She enjoys meeting the happy couples during tours, developing relationships with them during our open houses, and then seeing their vision and plans come together on their wedding day. She has a heart of service and finds great joy when couples come back to the venue to visit and also show off their growing family.

When she’s not teaching or working on all things venue related, she loves traveling to new places with her family, preferably to a beach so she can collect more seashells, baking anything with chocolate, and reading a good spy or mystery novel.

BRON

When he’s not at his primary job, he loves working with his hands and building things up and tearing things down.  He loves creating and building new projects that will enhance the overall aesthetic of the venue.  He has a heart of service and on wedding days this is another way he shines. He truly enjoys helping our couples and their guests have the best experience possible.  In his free time, he loves traveling as well as building and creating things for his family.

CHRISTINE

Christine is the visionary behind Carriage Hills Ranch.  Her dream of preserving her family’s property and also creating a space to share with others, on one of their most important and memorable days, is how Carriage Hills Ranch came to be.  She is an artist at heart and created all of the outdoor structures that our guests enjoy, such as the gazebo and amphitheater seating, the waterfall and bridge, and the iconic fireplace and patio area.  She has taken a step back from running the day-to-day business of the venue, but you may see her stop by on your big day.

Currently, she is busy being the best Nana, serving and participating in numerous organizations, spending time with her family and friends, and pursuing various projects that allow her to utilize her creative juices.

  • "From the very first tour, we all knew that this was the location."

Michelle and her family are wonderful, caring, knowledgeable and were always available throughout the whole process from the planning to the final goodbyes.

  • "This spot is so warm and loving, you'll learn that from all the family history here."

That's what we adored first about this place, they take such good care and put a lot of love here. So much was built with their hands, the layout and area is gorgeous as well. Michelle and her mother are such wonderful and caring people, their whole family is just sweet. I'm so happy this place was where we got married it'll forever be in my heart.

Our friends and family raved about how helpful, welcoming, and loving their family was! We had hoped to have an outdoor ceremony, but when it rained the whole day Michelle helped us make our inside ceremony space special, she even gave us good ideas for photos to stay out of the rain but get beautiful photos!

ABOUT CARRIAGE HILLS RANCH

We are deeply committed to our family and the heritage of our family land. The love and ties we have to one another and the beautiful land we’ve been blessed with led to a natural desire to want to share it with others and add to our family.

A little history about our venue:

The owner, Christine, grew up on this “little piece of heaven,” and saw her children and other family members enjoy the land, too. The happy memories that were made by several generations of our family, along with the natural beauty of the land, led her to want to share it with others. As she has always been close to her family, she also wanted to help support her brothers with their carriage business. What better way to help her family, and also share this treasure in the Texas Hill Country, than celebrating the beginning of a couple’s new life together. Thus, our wedding venue, Carriage Hills Ranch, was born.

The first project Christine chose to take on was creating a gazebo overlooking the wet-weather lake with amphitheater seating. Next she designed and created the three-tiered terraces, a waterfall, bridge, and Texas limestone fireplace and patio area. The next loving task came when she transformed the over one hundred-year old family barn into a reception space. She did this by adding 5,400 square feet to the original barn. You can see the authentic Texas history of the past on the tin and wood walls.

You can see other elements of our history with the old tractor that was used by her dad to plow fields and is now used for many special photo ops. Our most recent addition of Texas history is the historic San Antonio streetcar that we refurbished in the spring of 2019. This streetcar, the 205, was used in the 1880’s - 1930’s as an important form of transportation in the city of San Antonio. It was left in ruin and, with a great labor of love by Christine, it has been brought back to life with as much history preserved as possible. Today it is used as an outdoor bar and appetizer area, as it’s equipped for bartenders and caterers to use, as well as a fun and beautiful gathering spot and photo area for you and your guests.

None of this venture would have happened without the love, support, and encouragement of her sweet departed husband, Frank. The two of them saw the venue go from an idea to a reality due to their hard work, vision, and love for each other. As a family business you will find her daughter Michelle and her family, working hard for you and your special day. We are a family and staff that truly care for our couples and it’s our greatest honor when they feel that they have become a part of our family. We know how important your special day is, and you are not just another couple or another number to us, but someone we hope will consider us family.

We have been blessed with sweet and wonderful couples, whom we treasure and are proud to receive their glowing reviews. We hope that we will be able to be a part of your special day, too.

  • We are thankful and proud to receive glowing reviews from our couples. Many of these reviews have allowed us to be selected as the “Couples’ Choice Award” winner on WeddingWire for SEVEN years in a row from 2017 - 2023.
